Leigh Anderson, M.A., Sport Psychology Consultant & Golf Professional
Leigh began golfing at the age of 3 and pursued her career into high school and college. A student of Therese Hession (Ohio State Womens Golf Coach) and Mike Adams (PGA Professional), Leigh became an accomplished junior player placing 3rd in the Ohio State Girls Golf Tournament and medaling in 7 national tournaments. She accepted a full-ride scholarship to The Ohio University where she obtained her BA in Psychology and minor in Exercise Physiology. She recently completed her Masters degree in the field of Sport Psychology and is seeking certification within the AAASP (American Advancement for Applied Sport Psychology).
Leighs area of expertise focuses on mental training for youth and adult athletes--how to enhance performance in several areas of the golf game. She not only focuses on training a golfer to perform during his/her golf round, but also consults on enhancing performance in practice and training sessions. These situations provide an atmosphere to train mental skills (like visualization) along with the mechanics of the golf swing (her second area of expertise). Integrating mental training with swing mechanics allows Leigh to train golfers in a holistic atmosphere. Her philosophy of teaching surrounds the idea that every golfer brings different skills, talents, and abilities to the table when he/she seeks instruction. Leigh prefers to enhance the positive points of a students golf swing; she analyzes the skills, talents and abilities each student possess and develops his/her golf game around those familiar concepts. This structure provides a creative atmosphere for building a golf game and teaches golfers how to become their own best coach. Program pricing may vary. An initial evaluation of each student is required and is arranged by appointment only.
