Derek Domaleski grew up in Littleton, Colorado where he was exposed to golf by his dad. He competed in local junior tournaments and eventually for his high school team at Heritage High School. In 1995 Derek headed to Canterbury School in New Milford, Connecticut to finish high school and pursue a hockey career at the highest level. While at Canterbury Derek played on the golf team where he served as the teams captain and MVP.
Following high school Derek attended Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. Derek received a BA in Economics from Lake Forest, and also played Mens Varsity Hockey Team for Four Years. While LFC did not offer a golf team, Derek continued to play competitively throughout school.
Immediately after college Derek entered the golf business as an Assistant Golf Professional at Skokie Country Club in Glencoe, Illinois. During three years at Skokie, Derek found his passion for teaching and trained under Head Golf Professional Robert Powers.
Derek followed his experience at Skokie C.C. with one season at The Country Club of Florida in Boynton Beach, Florida.
In 2001 Derek joined Green To Tee Golf Academy as a Lead Instructor and eventually the Director of Instruction. It was here that Derek met Chris Kendall and began to study his knowledge of the physical characteristics of golfers. As Derek and Chris worked together they found success in teaming up on clients to understand how their physical characteristics were effecting the motor patterns in their golf swings.
Derek expanded his knowledge of golf specific fitness by training under the Titleist Performance Institute. Derek is a Certified Golf Fitness Instructor by T.P.I.
In August of 2006 Derek and Chris Kendall opened Dynamic Golf Institute.
Derek continues to study how golfers can perform more efficiently and how fitness can increase their level of performance.
